Introduction to the 8th Global Stone Congress in Drama

We are pleased to welcome you to the 8th Global Stone Congress, held in the historic city of Drama, Greece. This scientific congress brings together leading researchers, experts, and professionals from around the globe to discuss the latest advances in the study, application, and technology of stone in various fields, including geology, material science, circular economy, environmental and Social Governance, architecture, and geoconservation.

Topics of focus will range from advancing geological methods and material science to improve the identification, mapping, and technical evaluation of natural stone deposits, integrating smart technologies such as AI and digital modeling to modernize quarrying, recycling of stone by-products, addressing the growing importance of regulatory compliance, exploring the aesthetic, cultural, and structural roles of natural stone in contemporary and heritage architecture.

In addition to high-level presentations and technical sessions, the event provides an opportunity for collaboration and networking among academics, professionals, and industry leaders, fostering the exchange of knowledge and ideas that will drive progress in the global stone sector.

2nd Announement

The eighth edition of the Global Stone Congress, the main technical-scientific event dedicated to the Ornamental Stones sector, will take place in Drama, Greece, between June 16th and 20th, 2025.

GSC2025 will feature a series of lectures, poster presentations, round tables, workshops in the areas of Architecture, Innovation and Sustainability. In addition to these initiatives, technical visits and networking moments are being prepared to provide interaction between all participants.

Authors can send an abstract with a maximum of 4 pages, until January 24th, 2025, using the following template:

The acceptance of the abstract by the Scientific Committee will be communicated by March 15th. The authors will then have to submit a communication for presentation at the Congress and scientific publication.

The eight Edition of the Global Stone Congress, the foremost technical-scientific event focused on Dimension Stone sector, will take place in Drama, Greece, from 16th to 20th of June 2025.

Throughout the GSC2025, speakers will present lectures, poster exhibitions, round tables, seminars, and workshops related to Architecture, Innovation, new technologies and Sustainability.
